You could do something as major as book a day at the spa, but you don't have to go to quite that level of expense to get the emotional recharge you need. Simply finding an hour to two to spend on your own in a quiet corner might be all it takes to put yourself back in the center of your life priorities -- right where you belong. Do not lose yourself in the lives of others. You are still number one.

Crystal and Iris: My Perfect Mini-Vacation

Yesterday afternoon, Crystal and Iris of Lower School 4 went to my office. I think they're actually looking for Lala... but since it's my door that they have to pass before getting to Lala's, they stood there, happily and crazily waving their arms, saying in their sweet little voices, "Hi Miiiiiiss!!!!!" Seeing their ecstatic delicate faces, I returned their greeting with (hopefully) equal enthuasiasm.Ü

I continued my work but shortly I noticed they were still standing at my door still smiling. Thinking that they want to come in, I invited them and they did not hesitate to approach my table. Attracted by the many cute colorful things on my desk, they played with my animal staplers and fancy pens with much amusement.

We were having small talk... how school was... yaddah-yaddah... then they flashed me their Headmaster pins! Proudly they said, "First time!" (With matching hand gestures pa of number one. Cute! Hehehe.Ü) Wow! Seeing how their eyes flashed with pride, I can't help but sincerely and wholeheartedly congratulate them.

Cystal saw my jar of candies. "Candies?", she asked. I opened the container and offered them sweets. Then they said, "Aaaaawwwww, Miss, you're always kind!"

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Minahal ko silang biglaaaaa!!!!!! =) Gusto ko silang i-hug that moment! SWEAR!!!!! Hehehe!Ü

I sooooo love the second one. It was forwarded by my Mom. It was sent to her by Tito Paco.

I used to think that God's gifts were on shelves one ABOVE another, and the older we get and the taller we grow, the easier we can reach them. Now, I find that God's gifts are on shelves one BENEATH another, and the lower we stoop the more we get.

Volleyball Pa Rin Ang Awit Ng Puso Ko

Don't Buy Me Love

Now that Christmas is fast approaching, I better blog about this...

I just read this from a Yahoo article. Cut off most of the parts. Just retained those which I know would kick some sense into friends. Hehehe.Ü

For a lot of men, emotional language simply isn't something they're entirely fluent in. And like any traveler in a foreign land, men often look for simple ways to translate what they're trying to say into a lexicon that's more familiar and comfortable.

Language of physical contact - what a man can't express verbally, he expresses physically
Language of frequency - lots of phone calls and emails
Language of currency - they communicate love by throwing money at it

Unfortunately, a man expressing affection with money can lead to a woman feeling like she's being seen as a commodity, not an individual. It's a tricky balancing act for the guy.

My heart goes out to the guys whose language is currency. You should be very wary. There's a very fine line between investing on your special someone and trying to buy her off.

Difficult I know, lalo na if you want to show off. Just keep in mind: Money shouldn't ever do the work of relationship building; your words and your silence ought to do that.Ü

Last Fri to Sun was Reedley's very first DWTL weekend. Yep, you read it right. Batch 1. I'm still awed and amazed how this weekend was so magical. I don't know how to share it. Just believe me when I say magical talaga. AS IN!

When I think of the 14 participants, I remember my Yuppie Batch, the 29ers.Ü They're as close... as sweet... as open... as honest... as sincere... as fervent in their prayers... as gulo and definitely as kulet! Ang galing! Hahaha!Ü

Basta, when we see each other I'll tell you about them... you may not feel how I felt those times... but look into my eyes when I tell the stories, you'll see sheer amazement.Ü

I have one story to share here... it's not about them, it's about me...

Friday night I went to the prayer room, naka-repose na si Jess. Sabi ko kay Jess gisingin ko muna sya, so I exposed Him again. There in the dark, with just two lit candles, I poured my heart out. As in poured it out talaga. Sabi ko Jess bigay mo naman wish ko... yun lang talaga prayer ko for now eh... yung lang talaga gusto ko... And I did something that I NEVER EVER dared to do before. (I might have been inspired by the Chocolate War's Do I dare disturb the universe? hehe...) I made a deal with God. I dared Him. I tested Kuya Jess. I asked for a sign from Him. If He gives me that sign, that means something. Kapag walang sign, wala ding something. Usually, when I do this, malaki yung chance na mangyayari yung 1st premise. Semi-sure win kumbaga. Madaya, I know. There was just something in me that night that made me dare, really dare, to make a deal kahit na alam kong there's such a high probability that it will not happen. Na alam ko pag hindi nangyari yun, cry to death talaga ako. Antapang ko di ba? Pero wala, I just have to test Him. Actually, now that I think of it more, it's not Him I tested, I tested myself, how much I trust Him, how much guts I have to surrender my fate and my life into His hands, to let go and let God.

(I wouldn't tell the details here... for selected ears lang eh... hahaha! Baka sumabit ako...Ü)

You know what?!?!?!?!? Before the weekend came to a close, IT HAPPENED!!!! Ang galing!Ü Hanggang batok talaga ngiti ko nun! Hahaha!Ü Ambait mo sa 'kin Jess! Ang lakas ko sa 'yo!Ü

But Jess still teased me... you really confuse me sometimes, Jess... I asked for that and he gave me ONLY that talaga... wala man lang pa-extra kahit konti! Hahaha! Di ko alam if you were just again testing me... malamang oo.Ü

I cried during the last staffer's disco... sabi ko totoo ba 'yun? sign ba talaga yun? Baka kasi hindi eh... parang hindi naman talaga... but it's there, while crying again, that I realized BINIGAY MO NGA YUNG WISH KO. YOU ANSWERED MY VERY PRAYER. Parang I can imagine You making face and saying, di ka naman naging specific sa prayer mo eh... wala naman yung iniiyak mo sa wish mo... I answered what you asked from me... what your heart desired... why are you still crying??? Tapos iiling-iling ka sa kalulitan ko... hahaha!Ü

Everybody can make anybody desirable or undesirable in their eyes.

To some (most nga yata eh hahaha!), I am geographically undesirable because I live in Quezon City... Fairview at that! Oh well, that's for them... ako ok lang!Ü The best nga sa Fairview eh! Hahaha! =)

Testimony of Mrs. Jenny M. Villegas

As a new student, my daughter Patricia Ysabel has adjusted quite remarkably in Reedley International School (RIS) coming from a big school.

Self-actualization is one of the core values of RIS. During the initial interview, Pat was told that the school strives to recognize each student's capacity for learning – in simple terms “ You may not be an Einstein, but you may be a Shakespeare.” My daughter was happy to know this. She felt that she will “bloom” in RIS. She was then very certain of her resolve to make that leap of faith and embrace change. I was glad that we both did.

During the 1st Quarter Academic Awards for this school year, Pat received gold and silver subject excellence awards. She is one of only four in the grade level to have received the most elusive Deportment Award. She is also a class officer.

The school system, class structure, and course outlines are clear-cut, organized and consistent. Teaching and learning methods are extensive and global in nature, creative and dynamic. Students are encouraged to be creative and dynamic. Students are encouraged to be CRITICAL THINKERS and PROBLEM SOLVERS with the open and free discussions in class, skills that are essential in life later on.

Someone from the family noted recently that Pat has this certain “sophistication” in the tone of her voice. I give the credit to RIS whose views on its ideal graduate run parallel to the very skills I profess to my daughter, to prepare her in MIND, HEART and SPIRIT. She has become more independent, confident, more outspoken and courageous. She is always early in school and doesn't like it when classes are suspended!

I have witnessed utmost professionalism in every single member of the RIS from top to bottom. For the teachers in RIS speak with authority but are not overbearing. They are very cordial to the students but draw respect from them as well. The school's administrators are always accommodating and they make it their business to know each child and his/her parents.

Kindness is simmered down through the faculty, staff, receptionist, security officers and every person in RIS; more so imbibed in the students' lives as inscribed in its walls.

When my Patricia saw all the happy faces of the RIS students in the film clip during the Parent’s Orientation, I remember what she said to me when we got home, “Mom, I want to be happy like those kids in Reedley.” And for me, that is what counts for there is NOT A DAY that Pat isn't happy when she is in REEDLEY. Everyone in the family has never seen her this happy. Indeed, PAT has found her second home.

Mrs. Villegas, it's parents like you and students like Pat who make our efforts to make things better for the Reedley Family easy, worthwhile and accomplishing. This article surely have touched all our hearts. We're eternally grateful.Ü

For over a month I've been searching for this song I heard on the radio. I was only able to record a snippet of the song tapos patapos pa nung na-record ko! Waaaaa! I've been asking around what the song is pero dahil hindi ko makanta and hindi ko man lang natandaan yung lyrics, GOODLUCK NAMAN! Hahaha! All I remember was what the song's about... buti na lang last Sunday DJ was able to help me out! And buti na lang din si Raffy meron nung song sa phone nya! I had a movie rerun weekend. A romance movie rerun weekend. Darn!

The danger of it? It makes you so reflective of your current uhmmm well... status. Baaaaad. Tsk tsk tsk. Hahahaha!

One of the movies I watched was How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. It still made me cry! Pathetic! Hahaha! Oh well, walang pakialamanan, yun yung trip ko eh! =P Hahaha!
