One Love At Christmas

Christmas Day is Reunion Day. Reunion Day is busy day. Busy though this day, tis a fun day!

For those really not familiar with the De Vera tradition, we don't have Noche Buena on Christmas Eve. We, actually they, all sleep early. We, actually they again, wake up soooo early Christmas Day to continue prepping for the luncheon reunion.

Kuya Ramir even playfully quipped parang GMA Foundation pila for Bicol victims... hahaha!

Christmas Caroling San Miguel Style

The San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts' Christmas Concert Series. We were able to watch last Saturday's show, December 23, 2006 at the Shangri-La Atrium.

Tagumpay Nating Lahat

Last December 20, 2006 was DC's best day ever! Why????

WE WON!!! CHAMPIONS!!!

Twas the night the Quezon City District 2 Chorale Competition 2006 was held. It was done in Batasan Hills National High School. Of the 15 church choirs targeted to join the competition, 12 only registered. Of the 12 who registered, only 7 showed up for the competition! Any idea why??? Kami rin wala, but I have an inkling. It was maybe because they did not know that the venue was changed!!! KAAAAA!!! Commonwealth School ang sinabing venue eh but it was changed to another! Luckily, I called the Councilor's office that afternoon to ask about other matters. That's when I learned about the new venue! That's when I had to text my choirmates about it! And that's the time I had to inform all the invited guests how to get there! Biruin nyo, buti na lang pala I called! Kaaaaaa, these people talaga! Oh well, enough ranting... we won! **worldwidest grin evah!**

Grabe! Ate Honey was crying even before the 3rd prize was awarded (which I thought was OA... Hahaha!Ü) but when they started calling upon the 1st and 2nd runners-up, my heart was really thumping! Kabog talaga! As in! I was thinking, kami naman talaga yung pinakamatino yung tunog eh, kami pa yung walang conductor, kami pa ang may pinakamatinong costume (hahaha!)... Basta kami yung best I think... But the Ever incident (read it here) kept replaying in my mind, so I didn't wanna assume we'll win, I might get uberly frustrated again. The host was prolonging our agony, he was injecting some other campaign lines, reminders and what-nots in between the announcement of winners! And when he said, "Ang first place.... DISCIPLES CHOIR!!!", ay hello, sigaw to hilo talaga ako!!! As in! Hahahaha! Nandilim yung paningin ko nun kakasigaw! Hahahaha! MY GAWD! MY GAWD! Waaaaaaa!!! We wooooon!!!

Magaling sya! As in! Have you been watching??? Hearing him even??? I know he's not the best but he's definitely better than most of them! Kahit sa mga bets ko! Kaaaaaaaaa!!!! >:(

Tears rolled down my cheeks when he was singing his final song. Sayang talaga sya... Sobra.... Haaaaaaaaaaaaay... I still am yet to recover from my disappointment and dismay...

Ten At Last!

Before the sembreak was over, we had our Sembreak Reunion at SM Mall Of Asia.

Or should I say Enchanted Kingdom???

Hahaha! On our way to MOA, Faffy, Charles, Jerick, Stacey, Xpac and I, decided to play Aren. These guys said that we were going to EK and not MOA kasi yun daw sabi ko. Faffy told Aren that he was with Charles na & sabi ko daw sa last text ko EK na yung reunion. X-pac texted Aren that he and Jerick are in EK na and asked kung san mag-mee-meet dun. He also added that Stacey was there in EK na rin. Dahil sa panic ni Aren, we exchanged frantic text messages and not knowing what to do anymore, Aren called me. Syempre tahimik lahat para kunyari ako lang nasa car with my bro. I told him eh pano if EK nga, he freaked out and said wala syang transpo and Miguel's there na din daw in MOA. It's either sunduin ko sila ni Miguel sa MOA then go to EK or fetch Xpac, Jerick and Stacey from EK then go back to MOA. Super gullible si Aren! Pati si CO napatawag sa kin sa panic! Hahahaha! Super sakit ng jaw and tummy naming lahat katatawa sa car!!!!


When we were nearing MOA na, I decided to send an MMS to Aren...

I put Haha! as the subject line... So malamang alam na nyang loko-loko lang yun... Wehehehe!

Can't decide what movie to watch... The bowling & billiards area is still being completed... Ice skating's mahal (Sorry, Aren! Hahaha!) No other place to go but...

And because may maximum number of people in the karaoke studio, the others booked the next booth. At dahil kodakan time, walang pakialam kung may limit limit! Lahat go! Hahaha!



Before we went our separate ways, we ate dinner at McDonald's.

Abi's home because her grandma, Duda, died. Condolences, Abikins. And now, Dudu, her grandpa, is in the ICU at Veterans. Buti na lang Abi was able to register as a special nurse at least Dudu's surely taken care of. And because Abi'd be back to the US after a few days, she decided to call a reunion dinner at Italianni's in Gateway.
